What is spine surgery?

· Laminectomy: - In laminectomy surgery the surgeons removes the bone spurs, parts of the bone or ligaments in the back. The removal of these bones relieves pressure on spinal nerves which causes weakness or pain. Both laminectomy and laminectomy are decompression procedures. Decompression procedure usually means where the tissues which are compressing a spinal nerve is removed. By cutting the bones, it gives an enlarged space which relieves the pressure that is built in the nerves which also results in relieving pain.
